At Weiler's Custom Log Homes we use pine or cedar logs in all dimensions and profiles.  Our corner constructions are sattle-notched, dovetail or butt and pass.  Our logs are fastened with a thru-bolt and spring system which enables proper settlement.  Proper planning along with skilled labor will get you the dream log home you desire.
